02 Jan 2009 - Smoking a Bad thing...?
ACT Health Minister Katy Gallagher has released a discussion paper which - among other things - canvasses a proposal to ban smoking in cars when there are children present in those same cars.

How to police it, there's the problem. Insist all new cars come with smoke detectors...? Retrofit them to existing vehicles...? Could be a nice little stimulus to the economy...

Cool website.
Who enforces this non smoking ban? I would like to see crap drivers pulled over first - tail gaters, people who have an indicator but don't know how to use it, pushy drivers who want to do over the speed limit but you are in their way, and people who never learnt how to use a roundabout. Fix that, then worry about smoking in cars.
My other half would steer the car with his knees while lighting a cigarette - no one ever pulled him over for that :-)
